CHF History At A Glance |
1983 - Grand Forks, ND A group of college hockey fans
realized that they were seeing
the same
fans at the NCAA Division I Ice Hockey Championships year after year.
So, 1983
was the first year that this small group of fans reserved rooms
together and
made a point of it to "party down" every year at the championship
regardless
which teams were playing. This original group eventually became known
as the Super Fans.
1993 - Milwaukee, WI The Super Fans continued to
grow and flourish through
the 1980's
and moved into the last decade of the 20th Century. 1993
marked the
last year that the Super Fans operated as this organization.
After the
championship in Milwaukee, the Super Fans organization was
dissolved
by its founding members. The new organization, College Hockey
Fanatics,
was formed. The name is more descriptive of who we were and what our
passion
is.
1998 - Boston, MA Boston marked the 5th year
for College Hockey
Fanatics.
Our ranks included over 200 crazed college hockey members.
2002 - St. Paul, MN
The College
Hockey Fanatics celebrated the
organization's 20
year history in St. Paul. Our membership has grown to 350 dedicated
college
hockey fans.
2012 - Tampa, FL
The College
Hockey Fanatics will celebrate its 30th
anniversary in Tampa.
